With over 25 years of experience, Dave Slomsky is recognized as one of the best in the industry when
it comes to preconstruction. As Vice President of Preconstruction, Dave is responsible for
controlling the project budget and managing the design process. He has keen insight into
the conceptualization, design, and constructability of our projects and is a valuable resource
during the preconstruction phase for owners, architects, and engineers. Dave excels at the
implementation of advanced technologies on our projects such as conceptual estimating
tools, macro BIM tools, integrated project delivery, and Lean systems, including Target Value
Design.


Dave oversees all preconstruction efforts, including constructability reviews, staging plans,
schedules, trade partner proposals, value engineering suggestions, final budget estimates,
and other portions of work. He is available throughout the preconstruction process and
beyond as a resource and point of contact for Suffolk’s clients.


Dave spent the first half of his career managing complex projects in the Washington, DC
metro area prior to joining Suffolk in 2004. In addition to The Grove, Spruce, and Balsam
Halls at UMass Dartmouth, Dave’s impressive higher education portfolio includes the UMass
Amherst P3 Housing project, Northeastern University Interdisciplinary Science & Engineering
Complex, and Boston University Center for Computing & Data Sciences. Da
ve holds a
Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of
Science in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University.
