Michael serves as the managing director for JE Dunn Capital Partners, LLC, the private equity commercial real estate investment subsidiary of JE Dunn Construction Company. As managing director, Additionally, Michael oversees and manages the Public Private Partnerships (P3) and Healthcare real estate project equity and debt structures, and investment projects for social infrastructure, public entity and large system higher education clients.

 In 2011, Michael became the president and CEO of Port KC, the regional Port Authority of Kansas City, where he led the organization spearheading a diversified portfolio of multi-modal transportation assets, public finance, and economic development strategies to enhance the economic vitality of Kansas City through transportation and economic development.  

Michael began his career as legislative assistant to Senator Christopher “Kit” Bond in Washington, D.C. and Missouri for appropriations, economic development policy and federal construction. In this capacity, he implemented the policy and financing structure for the IRS Service Center, the Midwest China Hub Commission, the National Nuclear Security Administration project, the Christopher S. “Kit” Bond Courthouse in Jefferson City, MO and Kit Bond bridge in Kansas City, MO. 

Over his career, Michael has completed more than $3 billion in public finance, real estate investment and development projects.  Michael currently serves on the Urban Land Institute-Americas Executive Committee, chair of the Kansas City Streetcar Authority, and past chair of Park University.

Michael holds a degree in political science from Park University, an MBA in Finance from Rockhurst University and post-graduate education at John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
